Kevin Vu

Kien (Kevin) Vu is an environmental consultant/engineer with over 7-year experience in Environment, Health and Safety, nanotechnology, microbiology, water/wastewater treatment, water quality, soil remediation, and air pollution control. He obtained a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering atConcordia University under the supervision of Dr. Catherine Mulligan. His PhD work focused on the remediation of oil pollutants in the environment using nanomaterials and biosurfactants.

Kevin has worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences since September 2022. His current research with Dr. Kyle Bibby involves the development of methodologies to exclude free nucleic acids from environmental metagenomes, which will improve the accurate assessment and quantification of viable genetic material in water samples. Outside the lab, he is interested in travelling, hiking, and watching US football. He often plays soccer with friends in the weekend.
