As part of the live broadcast for Notre Dame Day 2017, Alex Wilcox ‘16 from WNDU-TV South Bend interviewed Notre Dame’s very own Dr. Ashish Sharma, Reseach Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering & Earth Sciences and the Environmental Change Initiative, on the roof of the Morris Inn.  Dr. Sharma explains the many environmental benefits that green roofs provide, as well as the importance of green roofs in urban settings to mitigate the urban heat island effect.
