Natural ecosystems provide numerous services and functions important for human health and well-being. Yet, ecosystems worldwide are increasingly threatened by anthropogenic activities. Freshwater systems, for example, are often contaminated with agrochemicals, heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, and road salts introduced by runoff, atmospheric deposition, and improper use and disposal. My research integrates experimental and computational techniques to examine how contaminants influence individuals, populations, and communities in freshwater systems across space and time.
