Aaron Bivins

Dr. Aaron Bivins recently completed his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Aaron is a public health engineer interested in the relationships between microbes, engineered systems, and human health. In his research he seeks to characterize the interactions between human and waterborne pathogens mediated by various kinds of water. This research builds on his professional experience designing and permitting various hydraulic infrastructure including water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater systems. Dr. Bivins is a licensed engineer in the state of Georgia. In his free time, he can be found fishing in cold water streams for his favorite water quality indicator - the rainbow trout.

Dr. Bivins joins ND-ECI as a Postdoctoral Research Associate and will be working on several projects focused on changes in microbial water quality in the natural environment during flood events under the mentorship of Dr. Kyle Bibby.
